Shine A Light

In the song “Shine A Light” by Elevation Worship, we are reminded of the power of God’s light in our lives. We are encouraged to let His light shine in the darkness and to declare His kingdom here.

The Bible tells us in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus is the ultimate source of light and hope in our lives. He is the one who brings us out of the darkness and into the light. 

The lyrics of the song remind us that we are not ashamed of the light of God that shines in us. We are called to be a light to the world and to illuminate the darkness with the hope of Jesus. We are to declare His kingdom here and to live in the promise of His love and grace. 

The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” 

We are called to shine a light for the world to see. We are to be a beacon of hope and love in a dark and broken world. We are to let our light shine and to glorify God in all that we do. 

Let us take a moment to reflect on the words of this song and to remember the power of God’s light in our lives. Let us be a light to the world and to declare His kingdom here. Let us shine a light and glorify God in all that we do.
