Your Great Name - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song “Your Great Name” by Todd Dulaney is a powerful reminder of the power of Jesus’ name. The lyrics proclaim that when we call on Jesus’ name, things change and we are set free. This is a truth that is echoed throughout the Bible. In Philippians 2:9-11, it says, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” This verse reminds us that Jesus’ name is above all other names and that when we call on His name, we are acknowledging His power and authority.

The lyrics also remind us that when we call on Jesus’ name, we are healed, set free, and alive. This is a truth that is echoed in Isaiah 53:5 which says, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” This verse reminds us that Jesus’ death and resurrection brought us healing and freedom from our sins.

When we call on Jesus’ name, we are acknowledging His power and authority and we are reminded of the healing and freedom that He has brought us. May we all be reminded of the power of Jesus’ name and the freedom and healing that comes when we call on Him.
