Be Glad - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song “Be Glad” by Cody Carnes is a beautiful reminder of the joy and freedom that comes from praising the Lord. The lyrics remind us to give thanks and praise to the Lord, whose love endures forever. The chorus reminds us that this is the day the Lord has made, and we should rejoice and be glad in it.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 118:24This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” This verse is a reminder that we should be thankful for the blessings that the Lord has given us and to rejoice in His goodness. We should not take for granted the gift of life that He has given us.

The lyrics also remind us to hear the Word of the Lord and to accept the freedom and beauty that He offers us. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 61:3 “To grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” This verse reminds us that the Lord offers us beauty and joy in place of our sorrow and pain.

The song also encourages us to live to tell what the Lord has done and to sing of His love. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” This verse reminds us that we are called to declare the praises of the Lord and to share His love with others.

We should be thankful for the joy and freedom that comes from praising the Lord. Let us rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord has made and live to tell what He has done.
