All of creation, all of the earth
Make straight a highway, a path

Wake up the saint
Let every nation,
shout of Your fame
Jesus is coming soon

we’ll be a church ready for You
Every heart is longing for our King,

Even So Come - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song “Even So Come” by Passion is a powerful reminder of the hope we have in Jesus’ return. The lyrics call us to prepare for His coming by making a path for Him and shouting His fame. We are to be like a bride waiting for her groom, ready for His return.

The Bible speaks of Jesus’ return in many places. In Isaiah 40:3-5, it says, “A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’”

This passage reminds us that we must prepare for Jesus’ return by making a path for Him. We must make straight the way for Him and level the rough ground. We must call back the sinner and wake up the saint, so that all people will see the glory of the Lord together.

The song also speaks of justice and a new creation. This is echoed in Revelation 21:5, which says, “He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’” We can have hope in the knowledge that Jesus will bring justice and a new creation when He returns.

As we wait for Jesus’ return, let us remember the words of the song and the Bible verses that accompany it. Let us prepare for His coming by making a path for Him and shouting His fame. Let us be like a bride waiting for her groom, ready for His return. And let us have hope in the knowledge that Jesus will bring justice and a new creation when He returns.

Even so, come Lord Jesus, come!
